For our Out-of-State Visitors to the South of us, follow directions to Charlotte, NC. For Georgia
Residents,  take I-85N to I-77N. If you need more directions, just give us a call at 828.295.4700.

Because of blasting and construction at the base of the mountain on Highway 321, we
recommend using 421 when possible, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as they are
closed from Noon-2PM for blasting.

From Charlotte: I-77N to exit 73B 421N (Appalachian State University/Wilkesboro)
Continue on 421N through Wilkesboro.

From Winston-Salem, or Eastern NC: I-40W to 421N. Continue on 421N through Wilkesboro.

At Wilkesboro there are two options:

1) Continue on 421N into Boone, once into town, 3rd light is JCT 105 Ext. Left onto 105 Ext, 2nd
light is JCT 321. Left onto 321S. Follow 321S past Tweetsie Railroad & Mystery Hill, look for Blue
Ridge Parkway entrance on RIGHT.

2) Continue on 421N to the top of the mountain where you will see a large stone bridge and
signs for the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn left onto Parkway entrance ramp and go South (right)
onto the Parkway.

Take Parkway SOUTH, look for Moses Cone Manor (Craft Center) sign on right, once past Cone
Manor, next set of signs lead to JCT 221/Blowing Rock. (Do not turn left onto the 321/221
Boone/Blowing Rock exit. You are looking for the second 221 JCT, the speed limit will turn to 35
mph right before you come to the Moses Cone Manor.) Turn left at JCT 221 (100yd connector
road between Parkway and 221) and go to stop sign. Turn left onto 221N towards Blowing Rock.
First paved road on right is Laurel Lane. Turn right onto Laurel Lane and continue around
fence-line to L.M. Tate Showgrounds Sign on left, which is our driveway. Continue around
Grandstand to the office for Check-In.

From Asheville/Tennessee: I-40E to Morganton Hwy 18 Exit. Take Hwy 18N to Lenoir and JCT
321. Turn left onto 321N. Continue on 321N to the top of the mountain, where you will enter the
town of Blowing Rock. You will come around a turn to the right and see a big log building, a
Broyhill Furniture Showroom. There will be a left-turn lane to put you onto 321 Business. Turn left
onto 321 Business, this is Main Street. When you come to the 2nd light, turn left onto 221S (the
Speckled Trout Cafe & Cheeseburgers in Paradise Restaurants will be on the left at that light).
Continue on 221S for a little less than a mile. After you pass Bass Lake parking area, on your
right you will see a sign that says "Horse Stables" with an arrow pointing to the left. Turn left onto
Laurel Lane and follow the fenceline around to the L.M. Tate Showgrounds Sign on the left,
which is our driveway. Continue around Grandstand to the office for Check-In.

From Eastern Tennessee: Take 421S to Boone to JCT 321. Turn right onto 321S (Grace
Lutheran Church is on your left, Daniel Boone Inn is on your right). Follow 321S through Boone,
past Tweetsie Railroad & Mystery Hill, look for Blue Ridge Parkway entrance on RIGHT.

***Because of a rather steep embankment, for long trailers, we recommend coming through the
pasture. When you turn on Laurel Lane, look for the green double gates. There is a chain
wrapped around, but it is not locked. Make sure you have someone at the gate to open and
close, as we turn out boarded horses in that pasture. Once through the second gate, just
continue around the back of the Grandstand to the office.***
